My name is Myra, but honestly I prefer Amy. I know weird right? But, you will find I am definitely the weird one between this Coffee for Two! 😜 Welp!
I suppose I should tell you a little bit about myself, I’m sure you are dying to know!
I am a 30 year old mom of 3 who lives on coffee. I have an amazing husband! He just gets me and I don’t know what I would do without him. We have been together for 12 years and married for almost 8 years! He really is my knight in shining armor. He is always in my corner and always supports my crazy ideas like having a million animals, owning my own hair salon, and having 3 kids. He puts up with all of that on top of running his tile business by day and haunted house by night…that just sounded cool. I’m kidding, he does it all, day and night! I love him more than anything. ❤️
I am always on the go with work, sports, animals and just LIFE.
Speaking of animals, I have an absolute love for them. So much so, I have convinced my husband to let me have 2 potbelly pigs, a butcher pig (no, she isn’t bacon), 2 goats, chickens, a mean as hell rooster, and 4 duckies! I also have a few normal animals, 2 wiener dogs, and there’s a guinea pig in one of the kids’ room.
Anyway, enough about that…BOOKS! I always find a way to make time for books, don’t ask me how. I fell in love with books in a total cliche way: 50 Shades series came out and everyone was talking and talking about it, so I finally bought it and read the series in 4 days. I loved it so much and from there I just read anything I could get my hands on. I prefer there to be a guy and a girl falling in love at some point, it doesn’t have to be raunchy or anything, but something! Some of my favorite authors, just to name a few because let’s be honest that list is looong, are Jane Washington, Raye Wagner, Frost Kay, Jaymin Eve, Marlee Standard, Eve L Mitchell, and I suppose I should stop there for now.
So, I suppose this is the part where I talk about my pal Bridgette, our story is kind of funny, I think. Bridgette and I met at my first job when I was 18, I suppose she was too since we were born 27 days apart. We hated each other. She was a snot to me, 😝 so I am not even sure how it happened, but we started talking and it turned out we went to the same high school together. She was quiet while I was a trouble maker, of course making us the perfect pair! We have had many adventure over the last ten years. ->She has to edit my stuff, so we will see if this all stays or not! I truly believe we have two soul mates…the man you marry and your best friend. She was the maid of honor for my wedding and has been there for the ups and downs of life. No matter how mad she makes me by up and moving due to her free bird spirit and hatred for being caged, we always find a way to be back together.
My best friend called me one day and wanted to talk in person, which that in itself was WEIRD. We are not like that at all, lay it on me in a text and we will talk about it. I knew it had to be serious because she went to the courthouse and got married without telling me. 🙄 Whatever she had to tell me in person was BIG. She came to tell me she has cancer, at the time she wasn’t sure what kind or how bad, but fast forward to today and badass Bridgette is battling stage 4 appendix cancer. Sounds easy to cure, but it isn’t. She has been through more surgeries than I can count and has done it all with strength I can’t even imagine.
The point is, I love her and I am excited to share this blog with you guys alongside her. I want to make this fun for not only you, but us! If you have any questions or comments, just drop by and say hi!!!

Apparently I am the more serious of the two of us. I guess I am the type who sits down for coffee waiting to read the room before I say or do anything. I wait for my cue to open up and then like that I can be an open book, but usually only if you ask me. Luckily, Amy has no problem asking!
Amy is the creamer to my coffee. We have known one another for just over 10 years and in that time our friendship has been able to stay strong through all the hardships. Maybe I was a snot to her in the beginning, but looking back I don’t know how I ever could have doubted she would be my best friend in life.
Super woman-that is Amy; although, she might prefer Khaleesi. She amazes me all the time how she juggles life. She works and finds time to manage a household of rambunctious children who are involved with lots of activities and a husband who runs two businesses. If ever I start to think how am I supposed to get lots done, I think of her and tell myself to figure it out!
In contrast to Amy, I sit quietly in the serenity of my house most days, with my two cats: Little Kitty and Zoey and my husband (my rock) when he is not working. I am always looking for an escape from reality through the words of another. But, if there is one thing that gets me out of bed in the morning, it is coffee! Otherwise, I would likely lay there all day reading. I am recently no longer working, which leaves me plenty of time read AND share feedback with you.
Cancer doesn’t define me, but as Amy mentioned it is a pretty big part of my life these days. Perhaps we can talk more about that later.
Books are why we are here and books are what we will talk about! And maybe coffee. I have loved reading my whole life and even earned a college degree in literature before going back for a business degree. I had so much more interest in school when I was studying literature. I enjoy reading classics when I want to be a classy B, but really find the most pleasure in reading fantasy novels. There is something about getting lost in a completely different world that calls to me.
My hope is to give you, as a reader, insight into our latest reads and to discuss topics in the area of modern literature. Times are changing and reading is not like it was when I was a kid, fascinated by stories while sitting in a public library. I encourage everyone to read and hope that we can help you find your next read, as well as, find some new reads for ourselves from you!
P.S. I only made minor edits to Amy’s post. I will never censor her because that wouldn’t be fair to you!
